Draft for a lawyer’s review. Not yet in force. Written on 3/11/2026 to sit behind the enquiry page; it needs checking before Lotscape takes enquiries online.
Privacy
Version 2026-11-03 · Last updated 3/11/2026
In short. I collect what you put in your enquiry and the files you send, so I can reply and do the work. It’s stored privately, security-checked, filed in my Dropbox and emailed to me. There’s no visitor tracking. I don’t sell it or pass it on.
Who I am
Oliver Rose, trading as SkySync, Christchurch, New Zealand, is the agency that collects and holds this information. Contact: oliver@lotscape.co.nz. This notice follows the information privacy principles (IPPs) in section 22 of the Privacy Act 2020.
What I collect when you enquire
- who you are: whether you’re a developer, a landowner, building a home or other, your name, email, and your organisation and phone if you give them;
- the site: the address you type or choose, and the pin and outline you draw on the map;
- the scope you have in mind, what you’d like, your description, and your timing and budget if you give them;
- which Lotscape project you were looking at when you opened the page, if you came from one;
- the files and links you send;
- when you sent it, and the version of the enquiry terms you agreed to.
If the page can’t send online, it opens your own email instead, with what you typed, addressed to oliver@lotscape.co.nz, and your enquiry reaches me as that email. Nothing is stored on the website in that case.
I don’t store your internet address with an enquiry. It is held briefly in memory to stop a flood of submissions, then forgotten.
Why (IPPs 1 and 3)
To reply to you, to quote, to make the concept work we agree and to present it, as set out in the enquiry terms. If your files name other people, such as neighbours or other owners, please send only what’s needed.
Where it goes, and who sees it (IPPs 5, 11 and 12)
Only I see your enquiry. It isn’t sold, published or passed on, except where the law requires it. These services handle it for me:
- Cloudflare hosts Lotscape and holds incoming enquiries and files in private storage while each file is checked.
- Dropbox holds enquiries once their files have passed the check, in a folder only I can reach.
- Email: a copy of your enquiry, without the files, is emailed to my inbox, oliver@lotscape.co.nz (Google Workspace), so I can reply to you.
- Esri provides the map imagery and the address search. What you type in the search box goes to Esri to find the place, and your browser loads map tiles from Esri, which sees your internet address.
- Cloudflare Turnstile, when it is switched on, checks the form isn’t being sent by a bot.
Some of these providers store information outside New Zealand, under their own privacy and security commitments. I use AI tools to help read material and prepare concept work. Tell me in your enquiry if you’d rather they weren’t used on yours.
Keeping it safe (IPP 5)
Files go to private storage and are checked automatically before they go any further. A file that fails the check isn’t filed in Dropbox: it stays in private storage until I review it, and is removed within 90 days. Nothing you send can be fetched back from the website.
How long it is kept (IPP 9)
Enquiries leave Cloudflare once they’re filed, and within 90 days at the latest. I keep enquiry folders and emails until you ask me to delete them, or for two years after our last contact, whichever comes first.
Your rights (IPPs 6 and 7)
You can ask to see what I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. Email oliver@lotscape.co.nz and I’ll answer within 20 working days. If you’re not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.
Cookies
The enquiry page sets no advertising or analytics cookies and doesn’t track you across sites.
Changes
The version and date are at the top of this page. If this changes in a way that matters, I’ll say so on the enquiry page.
